MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc. launched its Product Website for 「MOTHER Bracelet」, the First Activity Tracker in the World* that does not require recharging.

March 2, 2022 – MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq CM: MRM), a holistic healthcare Company based in Japan (the “Company”), today announced it has launched the product website of the MOTHER Bracelet, the first activity tracker in the world that does not require recharging. Pre-orders are scheduled to start in April 2022.

Prior to the product launch,「MOTHER Bracelet」has received support from 1,292 people on the crowdfunding website called "Makuake" in Japan, a support and purchase website for new products and experiences. The activity tracker also took the first place in the Health Tech Gadget category for the year.

The company is planning to complete the shipping in March to those who have purchased through "Makuake", and the general pre-orders are scheduled to start in April.

MOTHER Bracelet was selected as one of the Nikkei Trendy 2022 Top 30 expected-to-be-best-selling items.

「MOTHER Bracelet」is an activity tracker that does not require recharging 24/7. It can track steps, length of sleep, body surface temperature, calories burned, and heart rate while wearing it. 

Since it is not required to be recharged, it does not have downtime (duration when the data cannot be obtained).

<Development Background>

"Lav®︎", a lifestyle improvement application developed by the Company, was behind the development of the MOTHER Bracelet. 

Lav®︎ is a doctor-supervised healthcare application where professional coaches such as dietitians and physical therapists give online health advice based on the data monitored through the application. However, there was an issue in providing accurate advice due to the downtime from charging.

What we needed was "lifestyle data for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year" and a device that would focus on health management. Therefore, we set out to develop a device that would overcome the problem of having to remove the device to charge.

Four years later, we have finally developed MOTHER Bracelet, an activity meter that does not require recharging.
